A cat that loves hanging out in boxes

Why do cats love boxes—especially cardboard ones—so much?

Whenever a package arrives from Amazon or somewhere else, my cats are always there to “inspect” it (a thorough sniff check, of course).

And almost every single time, it’s Milk who climbs into the box.

She always does the sniff check first, then hops right inside like it’s hers.

This time, too, she jumped inside and started going after my hand.

Glancing around, eyes darting.

Once she’s in a cardboard box, she usually gets all excited and starts watching everything outside.

Her eyes light up as if to say,

“I’m gonna pounce!”

This photo shows her getting ready to go after my hand.

When I move my hand side to side while hiding it slightly under the cardboard flap, Milk gets super excited! Haha

She looks around, throws a little cat punch, then ducks down again, peeks out, and looks around…

She keeps repeating that for a while. So cute lol

Unfortunately, I couldn’t capture the exact moment of her “cat punch” in a photo.

It’s such a funny and adorable moment, so I really wanted to get a shot of it—but it’s always so tricky!

Maybe it would be easier to catch on video? I’ll have to try that next time.

Cats really do love cardboard boxes.

After this, my black-and-white cat, Lily, also got curious and started sniffing the box.

Meanwhile, my calico cat, Latte, was fast asleep somewhere else and didn’t even notice the package had arrived.

After playing in the box for a while, Milk finally settled down and started resting inside it. Haha

Speaking of boxes, cats don’t even care if it’s cardboard or not—or how small it is—they just have to get inside.

The other day, I left an empty snack box out, planning to flatten and throw it away later. When I looked back, Latte had squeezed herself perfectly into it, and I couldn’t help but laugh.

It wasn’t even that big, so she was all squished—but she looked so comfortable, like “this is my bed now!” So I ended up leaving the box there for a while.

Cats also seem to have their own little “trendy spots,” don’t they?

Maybe it has something to do with temperature, humidity, or sunlight, but they’ll sleep in the same place for days or even weeks, and then suddenly switch to a completely new favorite spot.

No matter where they sleep, though, their peaceful little faces are always so soothing to watch.

This time I shared a little story about my cats who love boxes—how about yours?

I often see photos and videos of cats in boxes on social media, and honestly, it never gets old.
